Indonesia’s Largest Ever Food and Hotel Exhibition Attracts Record Turnout
Food & Hotel Indonesia 2017 will return on 5-8 April 2017, following this year’s highly successful edition which attracted a record 30,955 trade and business visitors from across Indonesia.
In total 1,611 exhibiting companies from 47 countries showcased their products, expertise and services to Indonesia’s fast growing food, hotel and tourism industry. This year, international group pavilions came from Australia, China, Italy, Iran, Korea (2), Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan (2), Turkey and USA.
The exhibition which occupied a massive floor area of 28,097 Sqm was officially inaugurated by Ms Esthy Reko Astuty, Director General of Tourism Marketing, Ministry of Tourism, Republic of Indonesia.
Over the duration of the exhibition, the highly anticipated Indonesia Salon Culinaire chef competition attracted a record 1018 competing chefs, pitting their skills in four categories over 25 classes, comprising of pastry display & live, artistic display & practical, plated food display and practical live cooking.
The significance of culture and heritage in shaping culinary developments was recognized with Indonesian cuisine brought onto the center stage through unique competition classes of nusantara lesehan, Indonesian tumpeng, 3 course Indonesian set menus for juniors, Indonesia family style hot cooking and dessert plated Indonesia flavor.
The 2nd Indonesian Latte Art and Cup Tasters Championship also hit a high note at the grand finals during the exhibition. In total, 182 competitors captivated the judges and audience with their knowledge and delightful skills.

Indeed, the success of this year’s Food & Hotel Indonesia reflects on the strong industry growth in Indonesia. With more food, hospitality and tourism projects in the pipeline, we hope to be able to successfully connect and match businesses through our Food & Hotel event series. In fact, the attention has now turned to Bali next year and all preparation has already started for another exciting event in the series.

The next event for this sector in Indonesia will be Food, Hotel and Tourism Bali 2016. This will be held on 3-5 March at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center.
